Rate our January 2023 transfer window out of 10!

2/10.

I'll defend Gakpo a bit. Sure, his time hasn't been pretty so far but I think a lot of it is due to to the forward line having injuries too. Let's face it, as frustrating as it is to not have signed a midfielder, he was still a needed signing due to the Diaz injury and to a lesser extent the Jota injury and he will be a key piece for us up front in the coming years. So in a vacuum, he was a solid signing too and at a good price.

But the lack of addressing the clear midfield issues and flaws and just thumbing our nose at any notion of getting into the market and trying to fix it makes this window a 2/10. The fact it's the second time we have ignored clear positional crisis in 3 seasons but in this case it was a worse ignorance of the flaws and issues make us look like mugs. The fact United loaned in a midfielder after one of their midfielders got injured makes us look like mugs. It's that frustrating.

IMO, it would be a clear 0 without Gakpo, although 0 would be charitable even then. That's how pathetic and shameful a window it was.
