WWE RAW September 7, 2015
SEGMENT 1: The Authority in-ring promo. The announcers mention that there will be a sit-down interview with John Cena later over his strange behavior the previous week. The Authority and Seth Rollins go to the ring. Rollins says that he is the future of the business and that he will prove it when he beats Sting at Night of Champions. He says that Sting is the past and guarantees a win. Triple H reminds him that that guarantee is very important, because if he loses he's out of The Authority.
Stephanie says that due to "certain events" (Cena's walkout), Rollins will not defend the US Title against Cena at Night of Champions, instead since it's not fair to make him wrestle twice in one night, he will defend it tonight against the winner of a battle royal.
Randy Orton comes out on the entrance ramp and reminds The Authority that he had Rollins beat 2 weeks ago. He says that if Triple H and Stephanie "had any balls" they'd give him a WWE Title shot against Rollins tonight, and then it will be him against Sting at Night of Champions instead. Stephanie interrupts and tells Orton that his time is up and he's exactly what he used to "kill": a "has been legend". Stephanie tells him that he's more washed up at 35 than anyone wrestling at 50 and tells security to escort him out because he's been given the night off. Orton just stares then turns around and goes to the back.
SEGMENT 2: The battle royal for a US Title shot.
SEGMENT 3: The battle royal continues. Kevin Owens and Dolph Ziggler win after they eliminate each other.
BACKSTAGE: Triple H tells an irate Rollins that he will have to defend the title in a triple threat match.
SEGMENT 4: Sasha Banks vs Naomi. Vignette during entrance: Banks says that she used Naomi when she needed backup, and now she's just excess baggage.
Charlotte and Paige are on commentary.
Banks wins cleanly. Tamina checks on Naomi as Banks walks away with a smirk. Nikki Bella walks out on the entrance stage and poses with the Divas Title. The announcers mention that next week we will decide a number 1 contender for the Divas Title.
BACKSTAGE: Dolph Ziggler is seen talking to Summer Rae, but the conversation is inaudible.
SEGMENT 5: The Dudley Boyz vs The Prime Time Players.
SEGMENT 6: The Dudley Boyz vs The PTP continued. The Dudley Boyz win cleanly. The New Day are on commentary, and attack the Dudleys after the match, but the Dudley Boyz and PTP beat them up until The new Day escape.
SEGMENT 7: Ryback vs Stardust. Non-title match. Ryback wins by DQ after Kevin Owens interferes and attacks Ryback from behind with a steel chair. He focuses on Ryback's leg until referees drag him away. Owens grabs the microphone and says that Ryback represents everything wrong with wrestling today: "a non-talented musclehead with a stupid catchphrase". Owens promises to take the IC Title away from him at Night of Champions. The announcers make it clear that the match is official since Ryback accepted Owens's challenge last week.
SEGMENT 8: The Miz vs Cesaro Vignettes during entrances: Miz says that the "era of Miz" begins tonight. Cesaro promises to "shut Miz's big mouth".
SEGMENT 9: The Miz vs Cesaro continued. Miz wins. Sheamus is shown watching on a monitor backstage. BACKSTAGE: Dolph Ziggler is interviewed: he promises to "steal Rusev's girl and the US Title all in one night".
SEGMENT 10: Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns vs Bray Wyatt and Luke Harper
The Wyatts enter first, but Reigns attacks Bray even before he made it all the way to the ring. The match never starts as Reigns brawls with Wyatt, while Ambrose brawls with Harper. The lights go out, when they go back on Brawn makes his debut and helps the Wyatts take out Ambrose and Reigns.
Wyatt grabs the microphone and says that at Night of Champions he wants Ambrose and Reigns in a tag team elimination match. He says that he will "take out the remnants of The Shield one by one" and that soon everyone will learn that Wyatt is their "savior".
SEGMENT 11: John Cena interview via satellite with Renee Young.
Cena says that while he loved watching wrestling as a kid, he wanted to be a bodybuilder. He says that he switched to wrestling after realizing that bodybuilding wasn't as much of a passion for him as he thought. He says that when he first came to the WWE, they didn't let him be himself and so his career went nowhere. He was allowed to be himself and his career took off, then Vince McMahon sat him down and told him that rapping isn't going to work out long term, he needed to be more of a corporate champion: family friendly positive role model.
Cena says that while Make A Wish was important to him, he never wanted to be a role model or pretend to be something he isn't for money. He was young and naive. He says that when The Rock used to call him "phony" it bothered him because it was the truth. Cena says that his legacy is of a guy who the fans don't like, but who pretends he doesn't care and continues to say stupid things and sucking up to them.
He says that Triple H and Stephanie told him that his contract is ironclad and that he must continue to be there every week. Cena says that Vince, Steph, and Triple H killed his passion but they can no longer make him be what he doesn't want to be. He says that he's legally allowed to take time off so he'll take it, but when he comes back the WWE will never be the same.
SEGMENT 12: Paige and Charlotte vs The Bella Twins.
Paige and Charlotte win cleanly after Charlotte beats Nikki by submission. Charlotte takes the Divas Title and raises it over Nikki. Sasha Banks walks out on the entrance ramp and smirks.
SEGMENT 13: Big Show promo.
Big Show comes out and asks the fans why they hate him. He says that John Cena is not the only one having problems with "the WWE Universe". He says that he worked his whole life for the fans, and now they want him to retire. The lights go out, when the lights go back on The Wyatt Family stands around Big Show. Bray smiles and tells Show that no one ever understood him, except Bray Wyatt. He tells Show to "follow the buzzards". Bray smiles and motions for Show to "come with me", Show looks around at them then walks away with a confused facial expression. Wyatt laughs.
SEGMENT 14: Sting taped promo.
Sting says that The Authority are not the only ones giving out guarantees, and that he makes a guarantee of his own: he's walking out of Night of Champions the WWE Champion. He says that his career is not complete until he can say that he won every major World Title.
SEGMENT 15: Seth Rollins vs Kevin Owens vs Dolph Ziggler for the US Title.
SEGMENT 16: Seth Rollins vs Kevin Owens vs Dolph Ziggler for the US Title.
Sheamus walks out and stands by the ring. Rusev runs out during the match and hits Ziggler with the US title while the referee is down. As the referee gets up, Rollins goes for the pin, but Owens throws him out and pins Ziggler himself. Owens is the new WCW US Champion.
Rollins gets back in and confronts Owens. Ziggler kips up and hits Rollins with the Zig Zag. Rusev attacks Ziggler. Owens walks away. Sheamus quickly gets into the ring as Rollins slowly gets up and hits him with the Brogue Kick. He motions for the referee as he hands him his MITB briefcase.
All of a sudden "Voices" hits and Orton comes out with an emotionless facial expression. He walks to and then enters the ring as Sheamus looks at him with concern. As Orton gets into the ring, Sheamus charges him but Orton catches him with an RKO. Nearby Rusev knocks down Ziggler. Orton holds his head as if he's trying to "control the voices" then suddenly turns Rusev around and hits him with an RKO.
The referee asks Orton what he's doing, and Orton RKO's him without even looking at him. Ziggler gets up and kicks Rusev, he turns to Rollins and is met with an RKO too. Rollins slowly gets up as Orton slowly turns to face him. Orton then RKO's Rollins. A few referees run into the ring and run right into RKO's.
Orton assesses the ring filled with bodies, then calmly picks up the MITB briefcase, walks out of the ring and leaves.
BACKSTAGE: A shocked Triple H and Stephanie watch the monitor.
