For those of you wondering why we aren't allowing product links, we are just trying to get away from the shady practices that got this sub banned.

Of course you can say where you got the item in the post, we are just working on ways behind the scenes to link directly to it while honoring our commitment to the admins to keep the profiteering out of the sub as much as possible. But saying "I found this on etsy under the account SiouxsieSiouxV2" gives the reader the option of going there and finding it themselves while also putting an extra barrier between the site selling things and the people who have a financial incentive to get clicks to that site using their personal referral links.

Not to mention it also prevents this sub's mod team from clicking on malware and IP trackers. Ever had someone pm you a picture of your house because you clicked the wrong thing while modding reddit? I'm a little skittish about asking any mod team to click links that they are not 100% sure of, and how can we leave them sitting in the sub for you to click on them if we aren't even willing to?

So we are working behind the scenes on that issue as well. But for now, let's just post cool products and keep the linking out until we can get our bots up and running.
