RE: Why forcing players int roles is NOT a terrible idea

Opposed to current situation (or rather recent) where each squad member carries a gun that can act as a lmg and a sniper and they bring 10 grenades and have backpack that can fit a small human and armor that stops everything but igolnik and m995 a one man army, one guy doing it all

Newer thought of this this way. I like to compare EFT to Arma 3 although they are very different they are still hardcore milsim games with tarkov only having the survival aspect which i like very much but its not at all utilized right now. In arma you have to think about what gear you bring (mission planning etc) and of course you can take the best gear and all that but it would be stupid. In tarkov you have two types of gameplay. You go meta or go hatchling so you can go meta. Tbh this gets very boring in about 1-2 months after wipe. In tarkov you just spawn essentially to a fixed location with only a one goal to make money and you know the loot runs, player spawn locations etc. Tarkov becoming open world, more missions, gameplay styles and longer raids maybe can fix this. I didn't want this game to turn to like CoD...
