You’re kidding me.

Computer Science is a big one. Its only like 20% women (google circa 2013). It was much much smaller even a decade ago. Its growing fast now, which is great!

However, its mostly men in the high paying jobs because the field is/was mostly men, and mostly men have the experience required for Lead rolls and the such.

So your comparing 20% of the workforce, primarily juniors and mid level employees, to 80% who are juniors all the way to ownership.

When you compare specific jobs and positions based on relative experience, a lot of the "wage gap" arguments go away.

This also reigns true in nursing, where men are more likely to take the higher paying travel positions.

It doesn't take a degree in statistics to understand how averages work, and how you cannot blindly compare things at top levels unless your doing some kind of political pandering.
