REACTION TO THE FINE BROS "REACT"?!?! (SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT)

I'm a little confused by the reaction here. Not the Mega64 reaction, I understand what they're doing. I mean the reaction from you guys. As far as I can tell they're not trademarking word react, or even react videos in general.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems like the idea behind "React World" is that they're opening their channel to outside sources to create similar content to what they have and place it within an already popular channel, which seems like it would be good for exposure for a less established YT channel. Granted they'll be taking a cut of the earnings, but the potential earnings for a smaller YT channel would be a lot higher being part of a larger and well establish channel. I see this all the time on YouTube-- Channel Awesome was created by Doug Walker for his YT friends to latch onto his popularity and build their own name in the process. Similarly there's the channel Wisecrack that brought together a handful of smaller channels to help each of them grow as part of a larger group (Thug Notes is amazing if you haven't seen it, and it's part of the Wisecrack channel now). Cinemassacre was created by AVGN to give his friends a platform to publish their videos while benefitting from his popularity at the same time. I'm sure he takes a cut of the money that their videos make.

I understand that this is a cash grab on their part, and their presentation of the idea was pretty atrocious (claiming that others are stealing their format is idiotic), but presentation aside why is this such a bad thing?

I'm asking not because I'm an avid fan of the Fine Bros, I just become suspicious any time I see reddit in such a frenzy without a single word from the other side existing (I've still never seen a negative word about Bernie on here). I don't see what makes this move any different from any other big channel absorbing smaller ones. If Pewdiepie opened up a Pewdiebakery channel where other content creators he likes or approves of could join in and post their own lets play videos under his label while he takes a cut of the action, would that be different from what the Fine Bros are doing?
