From the sounds of it, it seems that T.J. used to support this person and their transgender lifestyle, but feels that this person is just using being transgender as a crutch to push a victim complex. And he's had enough.
His language and reaction is unfortunate and highly inappropriate, definitely not a graceful non-asshole way to handle it. But I'm not sold on this person being completely free from blame, as I have also needed to "blow up" at my own friends who use identity politics to drag other people down instead of trying to pull themselves up. I've been in his shoes.
I don't think he's criticizing them for being transgender. He's criticizing them for having an insufferable victim complex. Unfortunately we're getting just one side of the story here, and I'm not convinced this kind of outburst is just spontaneously out of the blue.
