Reading that the finale is the episode HBO chose to submit for Best Writing Emmy

Going against the grain here but my favourite episode in the series was actually episode 3 of the last season, the long night. Don't think i've ever felt such intense emotions from any episode of any other show. After watching it, I genuinely thought that people were going to have nothing but praise but then I realised it's all relative. I'm a huge fan of classical piano and I love playing the piano myself. I was so caught up in the aesthetics the story really didn't get to me that much. I think at one point i did have a passing thought of, "damn, night king and his buddies fell a little too easily" but overall, I was fully emersed and enthralled by the whole thing.

Even though I appreciate that everyone's opinion is subjective and there will always be people that will dislike a piece of work, the backlash for me feels, although fair in terms of the story and half arsing the ending, very much as though it was overblown due to the bandwagon effect. I have a feeling if everyone posted their thoughts on the show before listening to other people's thoughts on it they wouldn't be so harsh. As bad as the episodes were, they were still great compared to other shows.
