Reading /r/ProtectAndServe has reinforced that cops are not on my side as a citizen, rather than showing cops in a positive light.

It depends on the community tbh.

A lot of small town cops are only corrupt insofar as they'll let half the people they pull over off instead of giving a speeding ticket because they're their nephew's wife's brother in law. It seems like mostly a city thing where police are regularly trying to prey on the citizenry for profit or giggles. And since a lot of 2A supporters are from small towns, that changes the overall perception.

Aside from that, there are several 2A communities that are critical of police. On Reddit, Shitstatistssay is in favor of 2A and also against police generally. On other more mainstream firearm subs it's hit or miss depending on the context, but not really "blind devotion to all cops" except on r/ guns.
