Reading with ADHD

Hey, OP, I am in the same situation as you and I read a lot! Here is what I do. Usually I find that my attention latches onto some part of the plot, or a character I find interesting, and then I start to lose focus when the story swerves away from them. So I will actually skip over parts of a book that make me unfocused until I reach the end. Then I start again, and reread the book like this several times, skipping things each time, until I have read every page. I am much more patient the second or third time around and also more invested in all of the little details. So it's kind of like a photograph that grows clearer with each read.

I imagine it takes me a little longer using this method than if I had read the book only once straight through without skipping. But it is impossible to know for sure, because there are some books I have not finished that way. I hope this helps.
