I haven't seen them, but be ause the Osbournes are beits & not from the southern US it is very likely the dolls were golliwogs, a toy with a more complicated racial history than the racist caricatures here. Specifically, the golliwog wasn't supposed to be a black person or a person at all - it was supposed to be a kind of strange creature like shock headed Peter. Alan Moore used the golliwog as a character in one of his later Extraordinary Gentleman graphic novels to some controversy in the US; Moore himself wrote an interesting essay about the golliwog in response to being called a racist as a result. You can make your own decisions but trying to overlay America's very sick & twisted racial politics onto behavior in other countries often leads to misunderstanding
