The Real Chomsky

'Chic' was a surprising and a bit baffling choice of word, though after some reflection apropos. Is this really the currently the fashion in political diatribes? Noam's often been attacked/criticized in similar fashion before, but I was under the (possibly mistaken) impression it isn't as popular as it once was, given how badly off his critics look coming away from such encounters, but perhaps I misjudge the intended audience. Maybe a piece like this is just meant only to appeal to and solidify their preconceived notions. I haven't been systematically monitoring the coverage of Noam and keeping track of the popular flak and slung mud with that in mind, nor come across this site before. North American mass media seem to prefer to pretend he doesn't exist rather than risk giving him any significant sort of platform, maybe why this came out where it did.

Taki's magazine' seems to be some Greek neo-conservative (?) 'online magazine'/op-ed blog mouthpiece, like the sort of glossy magazine garbage that seems to be increasingly rare in weekend newspapers. Kind of like a slice of what supposed to be occupying and interesting the upper crust, crap like the latest haute cuisine and vacation getawars. 'Cultural caviar', it's obnoxiously ostentatious in a very vulgar nouveau riche kind of way.'Paleoconservative' is an uncommon lable (maybe a rebranding). Does it encompass Trumps republican vanguard or a reaction, or other things? It's challenging at times keeping track of the jargon, and distinguishing rhetoric from actual aims and ideological alignments, exactly where it fits in a political taxonomy of mass media isn't quite clear. That would be a useful thing to have, along with a reliable and precise dictionary of political jargon. I suspect the latter would resemble The Devil's Dictionary though. By the by, interesting choice of username.
