Youth Activists in Chicago ran the mag mile into the ground, the city will likely never fully recover economically. Concerns about uncontrolled gentrification are valid but also keep in mind that those individuals are footing most of the bill for social services.

There is a decent group of emigres from Chicago forming here in Boston, the social fabric decayed to the extent that it justified a move. Every high earner that leaves is bringing their money into another community.

The key is figuring out how to move some folks in while keeping residents that wish to stay in their homes.
