A Realistic Review Of The NFC North Draft Classes

ok had to wait for lunch, figured i could expand some

vikings - i just hate first rd pick. they we're in a tough spot i suppose for being at end rd 1, i just think the pick was silly. Don't eve see the guy developing into an outside cover corner. too small, not great speed, iffy coverage skills at best. Slot corner, which he is, is the spot you put your worst player and is the easiest spot to fill on the team. Don't take a cb in 1/2 if he isnt outside capable, imo.
their 2nd rd doesn't jump out to me. again tough spot, but i think he went a little early. Don't know that hes starter quality. Line depth always nice. Not awful pick but nothing special.
The back ends of drafts i don't put too much stock into, unless you are fucking something up(like taking 3 wr when you have glaring holes everywhere) Also, i never mind taking a K/P so long as you have 8 or more picks, or so.
I did like the Conklin pick tho. TE's take a while, and they have rudolph still, but its my fav pick of theirs
i'm left unimpressed and lot of fans ive seen, here and irl, felt like they were draft losers

GB - i typed out a bunch of my problems with them. they aren't putting nearly enough capital in positions behind their largest needs. Hedging your bets is smart, overdoing it leaves you thin elsewhere.
Decent first, not great size but good skills. hate the 2nd pick on another cb after their first this and first last(was a 2nd rd) was a cb. They're going to be relying on too many late rd picks in other positions.
2 wr drafted last year and 3 this year is, again, overkill.
Not knocking them any for P and LS. they had 10 picks, makes spending 2 on them absolutely fine in my book. well, would have been fine on a normal depth drafting team. lol

Lions - as for the players, only issue is maybe a reach in the 3rd.
a 1rd reach on 1 player isnt enough for major ding in rating.
1st great with side of solid
2nd solid with side of great
aside from the 3rd, which was good depth, the rest was all smart depth and good deals
maybe including our trades makes us a B- i didn't love the costs of our moves. we currently have an extra 5 and 6 next year, with a tentative 6th compensatory, so losing a 3rd isnt the worst but i wish we worked out a better deal.

Bears - highly draft position dependent, but thats what they get.
great top end first. 2nd highly rated and huge need.
just smartly filled needs and added depth rest of the way. went exactly how i would want it to go if i were a bears fan.
