I have found in 20+ years of this illness that the most offensive thing ANYONE could ever say is that God "loves me" or that this kind of illness is all "part of his plan." The basis of religion is FEAR, and I suffered for it for far too long. It was only through this illness that I finally able to relieve myself of the lies that religion spouted. Religion is a lie. God is not real. It took me a decade or so to reach that point, but I am so much happier for it.
