Correct me if I am wrong, whatever I am saying is just by my own observations.
Most of the Nepalese who are into communism are people who are financially backward. To them communism looks like the best form as it promotes absence of social and economic hierarchy.Most of those people see themselves as victims of society and to be honest they are to some extent. However most of those people did nothing to change their lives themselves and always found the society to blame for their situation. You will hardly find an educated person who seeks to always improve his skills or knowledge support communist ideology.
I personally have seen this in my own family. My dad was from a very small village. He has a brother too younger one. Dad was always very dedicated to studies and his brother was exactly the opposite, uncle always wanted things but never tried to work for it. My grandfather used to tell me that he never had to pay even a single penny for dad's education because he was always the first student and got scholarship in TU later on. Today he is a very reputable lawyer and is about to retire. On the other hand my uncle is always in one or another rallies and baithaks of maobadi. They both had the equal opportunity but one didn't work for it and now uncle goes around saying all the fucked up ideas of communism on Facebook.
Another case happened with me. There was guy in my class. He was the kind of guy who always came to the class high and was constantly abusing tablets idk what they are called. At our 6th semester he left the college. It's been many years since I last him. I always deactivate my Facebook but sometimes once a month I just check to see what's going around and I saw his picture. Turns out the guy is involved in maoist party. He was sharing quotes and ideas of communism on his profile and stuffs.
Having said that. No political ideology is bad. Communism didn't work because the country where it was a thing never implemented the core values of communism and were run by mostly dictators. Every political ideology will be ineffective if the people in power are corrupt.
