'Really frustrating': Kiwi tenants struggle to land rental homes as March Madness sets in early

They've been in opposition for 9 years. 9 years watching this. Imagine if at your job there was a critical issue that you new one day you'd get the chance to fix and when you got the promotion to fix it after a year you said "I'll call Dave, and Bob, and Jack...I'll make a panel to talk about how to fix this".

  1. Build
  2. Open up land to build
  3. Force council's to cut consent times and costs
  4. Cut immigration if your not capable of doing steps 1,2, or 3.
  5. Encourage overseas investors to build big apartment blocks if your struggling
  6. Build
  7. Cut the bullshit 10k first home grants and other ridiculous ideas which do what ... Oh it raises the first home purchases by 10k instantly. It's throwing fuel to a fire, it's nice to act like it only helps first home buyers but it's no different to giving uni kids $50 more a week then rent goes up by $50..
  8. Get the banks inline. Doing 10% deposits once again raises the price. Old Bob worries about buying the nice can of baked beans at the supermarket cause it's 50cents more, but throw a double the sized mortgage at him and he'll happily bid 50k more than he originally thought
  9. Build

And if you think I'm an old Boomer I'm not, I gave up on purchasing a year and a half ago after missing out on 10 offers and moved to Aus.
