Is it really impossible to get a 1080p60 gaming build for under $600?

You can get a machine that has a 1050ti in it, which can give you on average 50-60 fps on medium settings at 1080p and 45-50 on high settings. The 1050ti goes for about $179 on Amazon. You could spend more for a 1060 card which would give you even better fps and be better for future proofing if you want titles that come out later for 1080p. However the 1060 card is about $350 for the 6gb vram version ($239 for the 3gb vram version).

I would recommend building your own than going the pre-built route if you want a desktop.

You can also get a 1050ti laptop (Dell for example with their 7000 series) for $600 or less when they go on sale. Check slickdeals.
