Really need some help and advice from you guys. TW: Obesity

That’s fine you dont need to apologise. But yes, that is what i thought. From what i know, GPs do not recognise ARFID as an eating disorder. Some do, but most don’t, that’s why it’s better to go a specialist that treats/ gives a diagnosis to ARFID patients (this could mean that you pay privately which sucks). I suggest you do that, ARFID is a very serious eating disorder and so is Anorexia so do not leave it to later (I suspect you probably have the atypical one? which might be why they’re not diagnosing you). If you go to a specialist about it, emphasis that your symptoms are not the classic symptoms. Theres also the belief that ARFID only occurs in children but that’s wrong, it can happen to anyone at any age. I highly doubt you would get diagnosed with ARFID even if you were severely underweight but I can understand with Atypical Anorexia. It depends on where you live as well, some doctors are better in some regions than others. It’s best to see an eating disorder specialist if you can but even then, you might not get diagnosed with ARFID. I hope things work out for you.
