There is a natural build in men’s internal sex drive to notice outward beauty. But there is nothing forcing us to leer or double take. I already struggle with ADD type behavior so I can be like a dog with a squirrel on the best of days, that being the case, I choose to respect myself (and my partner) enough to not be that creepy guy even when the beauty is all around me. Sure I will notice the beauty around me, but it doesn’t own me or my attention. This is a purposeful action by me as the natural (animalistic) drive pushes me to take in as much as possible.
We are capable of being more than our animalistic instincts. “I have to look” is the early version of victim blaming for rape (“she wanted it, You should have seen the dress she was wearing”). Male sex drive naturally urges us to “spread your seed where-ever and whenever possible” this doesn’t mean we have to give into that baser instinct. We are not animal with no control. I can choose not to eat even when starving.
