Really relatable.

Unfortunately, this is the world we live in. We’re raised in a society in which expressing our interests in television, a socially accepted “norm” is okay, and and yet expressing those same interests in one that’s accepted by a smaller population by comparison is not. When comparing the two however, the two subjects are startling similar- you’re both watching (and in the video game subject interacting with) the screen in front of you, and yet still video games are noted as the lesser.

I do believe society is to blame for this one. Years of favoritism and prejudice have created an ugly stereotype that video games are somehow ranked in that unpleasant category that’s somehow beneath watching television, although both are extremely close in similarity. At a very young age, kids are directed away from video games, as even their parents were raised to think of it as, well, poison to their child’s brain. And yet still, they’re fine with them watching hours of television.
