Reasons to move to Florida

The truth is, South Florida as of recent years, has become a bloated urban sprawl of a mess. That's not the place you want to be. It is a very exhausting way to live. Your daily life will consist of traffic, lines, and rude people. Not only the to your face rude like not saying thanks when you open the door for someone but the waiting while a car reverses from a parking spot with your blinker on clearly before another guy was even turning down the lane and takes your spot because the reverser was blocking you. It's just a mean spirited rude, everywhere. You marinate in negativity. From having to listen to someone argue with a hostess at a restaurant about why that person is being seated first to someone Shanghai'ing the check out line from behind you when they ask for the next person in line, which is clearly you. You can't watch the news. It's only death, robbery and sports followed by a feel good story about puppies or a hero. You will see some messed up stuff. You will be accustom to interacting with homeless people. You will have a ridiculous HOA that will make you go insane from fines for not painting your worn out mailbox or parking in the grass. During hurricane season, if a storm is pointed at your town, you will see a frenzy of unimaginable consumption. Gas station lines will be hours long with fists fights and arguing. Food will be non existent. If one of those babies hits near you....could be two days without power, could be a week. That gas and food shortage will also linger around. Take a blow dryer out, point it at your face while on low. This is what the summer breeze feels like. Fun if your at the beach but a sticky, sweaty mess while walking from car to building or vice versa. Bugs are pretty bad for a few months. They'll let you carry a gun. Everyone has one.

The places that you want to be in Florida don't have much of a job market. The towns are smaller and it's a little more laid back.

Good luck
