Recall 20-047

This has to do with the gauge cluster display flickering/turning off. There's this tool with a giant pelican-style case that was recently shipped, and a new training module for Honda technicians to take that explains how to use it. The process is to remove the gauge cluster and flash the software on it, only some of the models don't have a port to flash from, so this tool directly connects to hollow pins in the pcb, and it's giant because it involves a built-in borescope with display to precisely line up to those holes. The whole kit weighs around 60 pounds and cannot be removed from the case intact.

Oh, and it pays .5 hours. And the flash supposedly takes 10 minutes once you get the gauge cluster connected. So you have to get the vehicle, remove the cluster, go get the expensive-ass tool from whatever inconvenient spot your manager thought would be safest, set up the tool, reinstall the gauge, and do the free inspection that is required on every customer vehicle all in 20 minutes. It's probably possible, but just barely, and only if everything goes smoothly. Thanks again Honda.
