We received Root for Christmas, and are really enjoying it. Played it 4 times this weekend!

So I just picked it up for my wife and I after hunting for it for weeks and while the game is AMAZING, the imbalance seems SO weird to me... Any other time an asymmetric game like this has been so imbalanced it's immediately called out by the community and criticized for being poorly designed (see disney villianous). But for some reason, it's celebrated when it comes to Root because it promotes "table talk and diplomacy". I just don't get why it's excusable. You have to really be into negotiating and just flat out talking to be decent at this game, which immediately excludes a decent number of personality types. Board games shouldn't penalize players because of their personality. And I say this having someone in my family that is very quiet and downright shy in games. She could never stand a chance
