i think technology has made it easier for a smart criminal and harder for a less intelligent one.

smart criminal can: 1. use resources available to find out how forensics department work and gather evidence 2. they can spy on their victims more easily (eg social media, hidden cameras etc), understand their routine and plan their attacks more carefully 3. can look at how previous cases have been solved and how other unsolved cases 4. i feel like as individuals in communities become isolated (due to technology), no-one really knows their neighbour, people don't look out for each other as much as so the odd-face in their neighbour doesn't alert anyone.
