Recent teachers of TDSB...upcoming interview!

Most stuff covered well below, but I will add that these days, they will almost definitely ask you a question about equity, so be familiar with the TDSB's equity policy and think up some good answers to the question "How will you show you following equity guidelines in your classroom/lessons?"

Questions about "21st century skills" or use of technology in the classroom are also popular lately. Think of some concrete ways you will use technology in the classroom or tech skills you have that enhance your teaching (e.g. SmartBoard use, familiarity with using Google Classroom or having a class website, etc.).

They might also ask how you would be valuable to a school outside the classroom - i.e. co-curricular involvement. Talk about any teams or clubs you have led or been involved with in the past, or any work you have done with kids in the past that would translate to co-curricular leadership (camp counselling, coaching a sports team, etc.).

They sometimes like to start off with a very broad question like, "Talk about one experience you have had that would demonstrate why you would be an asset as a teaching in the TDSB" or something along those lines. Think of one very concrete and explainable experience you had during your practice teaching or other experiences in teaching and be ready to explain exactly how it shows you are/will be a good teacher and what you learned from it.
