You are definitely not alone OP, I was rushed to the hospital several times in my early 20s and the doctors were shocked and puzzled that I am not aware of the fact that I am going to die soon if there isn't urgent medical intervention. There was a time that I had pneumonia so severe that one of my lungs had collapsed and the other was functioning at 15% and I had to be put on oxygen (before Covid) and at the hospital they couldn't figure out if I am insane. In reality I grew up like you being told to ''suck it up'' or labeled ''overly dramatic''. My mother was vegan for 2 years and forced everyone to be vegan when I was living with them which resulted in extremely severe anemia (she didn't bother to cook proper nutritious vegan food or get supplements) and I got used to walk around in a haze and feel like I am about to pass out, so when I wasn't getting enough oxygen because of my collapsing lungs it didn't feel like a big deal.
I am proud of you for taking the step to see a doctor and trying to care for yourself properly. I believe that with time and effort we can unlearn this and not be on our deathbed before seeking medical attention. Don't give up!
