I recently landed my first two gigs as a freelance screenwriter

These are very low numbers compared to larger productions. But you can't get blood from a stone, if the clients are small then that's what they have and you can either do it or pass on it.

I worked some lowball shit too starting out and built up from there so I get it. You gotta start somewhere. Be wary of people who don't understand the need to work for whatever you can get, this biz is FILLED with silver spoons and it constantly drives me nuts.

Anyhoo, negotiate your next gig for at least 10 times these rates. For a complete script it should be a couple thousand, not hundred. And if you're paid on a daily THAT should be a couple hundred - *at the minimum*.

Congrats on the paid work though! It's an important and HUGE first step!
