[Recommendation] Holy Trinity grail watch: Dress vs Sports watch?

First of all, like u/Thrawn4191, I'm also biased towards German watches. I have nothing to do with Germany (other than learning German in high school and absolutely hating the language), but I love German watches, I love Lange and my ultimate grail is an 1815 ref 235.032 (the most simple 1815 with a rose gold (they call it pink gold but whatever) case). That said, from these, I wouldn't choose the ALS.

It is totally subjective, I don't like these overly minimalistic designs, so out of your dress watch choices I would choose the Patek Calatrava hands down, and that would probably be my final choice if I were in your position (meaning if I had the money to choose from these watches while owning a Rolex Sub already).

But I feel like, based on what you've written, that the sport watches would suit you better. But then again, if you buy one of the sporty pieces from the list I would consider selling the Sub as it very much fills a similar spot and it is just a flat out upgrade. So after buying one of your sport watches of choice I would probably replace the Sub with a tough, more affordable (most likely titanium) watch and put it in the beater spot (top 3 choices are Tudor Pelagos, Steinhart Ocean Titanium 500, Victorinox INOX).

Anyways I've been missing the point for so long. So:
If you want a dress watch, Calatrava.
But the sportier ones probably suit you better. You still want to wear it with nice outfits. I think the VC is the best for that purpose. And honestly I think it is a bit more unique and rare than the PP and AP options (also I would never wear the PP with a suit). I think from your six or so options the VC Overseas would be the best for you.
