Recommendation Tuesdays Megathread - Week of June 25, 2019

Im relatively new to Anime in general so i feel like I don't know exactly what i like, so some recommendations on places to start would be nice!

So far my favourites have been My Hero Academia and Attack on Titan (I know, very basic and mainstream). I enjoyed Death Note a fair bit. I also watched the first season of Tokyo Ghoul but didn't get into the second season. I've watched a couple episodes of Yurri on Ice and while it was enjoyable the plot didn't really capture me to keep watching.

I've tried out a couple of other Animes that people seem to like if they watch these shows, but so far nothing else has stuck. Ones i've not liked: One Punch Man, Full metal alchemist (Brotherhood?? I think theres multiple versions of the show, idk), Sword art online, Haikyuu!, HxH. That said i did only get 1-3 episodes into most of these shows so maybe i should give them a second chance?

I think the main reason i didn't like something like OPM compared to MHA is because, while they did seem very similar, MHA seemed more grounded/realistic and character driven with it's story/journey naturally built into it and I didn't really get that vibe with OPM (no shade towards OPM, it just wasn't for me!).

If anyone has any recommendations or can convince me to rewatch anything i've written off already that would be appreciated! :)
