Recommendations for music with similar ambience and energy to Respighi's "Pines of Rome"?

Yeah, my namesake is pretty sweet. Pines of Rome is part of his Roman trilogy, the other parts of which, Roman Festivals and Fountains of Rome, are equally awesome, and live in the same universe. You'd probably also like his Belkis- Queen of Sheba, Three Botticelli Pictures, and The Birds.

Others in a sort of similar vein - The Planets suite by Holst, some of Ravel's stuff, like Daphnis and Chloe, Piano Concerto in G, Bolero, some of Dvorak's tone poems and late symphonies and especially his Carnival Overture, Gershwin's Piano Concerto in F and Rhapsody in Blue, Excursions by Samuel Barber. You might like some late Romantic symphonies by, say, Mahler or Bruckner. Other composers to check out: Saint-Saens, Sibelius, Milhaud.
