I have been thinking about these insane downloads for a bit.

To the best of my knowledge it has everything to do with 4k content. Now, I very much appreciate that content. I do some 4K gaming on my TV thankyouverymuch.

But, as I think about it, people that don't need those textures are waisting bandwidth - potentially capped bandwidth.

And then there are people like me who have caps - but have access to networks without caps - but don't have access to those networks on there gaming PC's.

I think the solution is self evident. We need this content as a patch that is A) entirely skippable if you don't need it and B) is capable of being remotely downloaded and applied via USB stick or some such.
