This guy sounds like one of my best guy friends. He is a great person but a low key alcoholic and addicted to video games. He'd talk to me about his girlfriend at the time getting upset because of him last minute canceling due to his introversion and overall unhealthy lifestyle choices like staying up too late playing video games. Sometimes he would make up work excuses just to play video games instead.

He just sounds really immature. I personally don't have the energy to tolerate anything of this sort anymore but it's really up to you how much you want to tolerate/work with. I'm fine not dating anymore, I value my peace and stress free life way too much to put up with this sort of behavior or even coach them on how to act like an adult but in the grand scheme of things it's maybe low on "bad male behavior" scale.
