Red Flag Laws and the Misguided Worship of Due Process - The govt. can't strip away the 4th amendment right against unreasonable searches and seizures simply because it has complied with due process rights. The role of govt. is to punish criminals AFTER the commission of an illegal act.

I have been looking at the bill of rights and red flag laws go against many other amendments besides the 2nd and 4th amendments.

1st A - This is actually the right most threatened. We will have to be really careful what we say around people (especially relatives) so as not to piss them off enough to report us to the red flag enforcers. Conservatives will have to really careful not to upset the leftists with our "hate" speech.

5th A - private property can't be taken without just compensation.

6th A - right to a speedy trial by jury with ability to confront accusers and witnesses and assistance with defense if needed.

8th A - no excessive fines or cruel and unusual punishment inflicted. What could be more unusual and upsetting than trying to prove your innocence when there has been NO crime.
