Red Velvet in North Korea makes it to front page of Reddit (r/all)

There are many misconceptions and wrong information in regards to North Korea. For example:

-'Kim Jong Un's favorite is Red Velvet's Irene' - A baseless rumor based on a rushed group photo.

-'North Koreans have no idea of Kpop' - Information of the outside world has been seeping into North Korea since the 90s, and basically everyone (especially those near the border with China) knows about Kpop and listen to it. According to defector testimony, S.Korean cultural content has influenced everyday language to resemble the South. Words like Oppa used to refer to a boyfriend only in S.Korea has become prevalent among the NK youth.

Looking past the tasteless jokes about North Korean totalitarianism, and theres the seamless transition to relating Kpop to said totalitarianism. There are very few respectful opinions imo, they are mostly ignorant opinions at best.
