Reddit is actually a lot more enjoyable when you only browse for a few minutes a day instead of constantly scrolling and refreshing for hours. Try it out!

I see what you’re saying, but as I said in my original post, I’ve been there. I’ve spent hours and hours on Reddit every day since like 2012.

But all of nosurf progress boils down to self discipline, doesn’t it? It very much IS possible for us to go on the internet less. That’s the whole point of this subreddit. And as I also stated in a comment I made elsewhere on this post, everybody is different and going cold turkey may be the better choice for you.

I made this post to give a reason for going on Reddit less. This is what worked for me. I got a higher quality Reddit experience and much less time spent on it. It’s a win win.

You may find that cold turkey is better for you, but I don’t think the average person on here wants to entirely give up every app and website that they enjoy. I think the average person here wants to have a healthier relationship with the internet, and to say that the majority of them aren’t capable of browsing for just a few minutes is making them out to be helpless victims with no personal agency.

I think that you are capable of browsing reddit for a few minutes. You may not be able to just go in blind and wing it, but if you create a plan of say using a timer for 10 minutes every hour for a week and then slowly cut down the duration and time between visits each day then I think you’ll be able to make a lot more progress than you’re giving yourself credit for.
