Reddit and the anti-PC jerk

I'm not sure how I ended up here, but I do feel a need to chime in a little as I think my perspective is a bit untainted on this topic due to a lack of information on both sides.

I am not a part of the sjw or anti-sjw crowd. I am a white male who had a good upbringing before slipping into poverty (hopefully temporarily). I've caddied at country clubs and worked in the dirt with mexican immigrants. I've directly seen the effects of an insular life, and it does lead to some of the things mentioned in the post. Never being challenged, never facing real struggle..it can lead to some really weird and offbase thought processes. These are probably the most belligerent types, and I'd reckon their ridiculous pushback is based on trolling or shitlording. Meaning they plainly shouldn't be listened to.

All that being said, there is a difference between that kind of person and someone like me who doesn't really fall on either side. In male culture, there is a natural leaning toward confrontation. You can see it in the always prevalent "ball busting." It is represented as hostile, even to your closest friends, but only in the sense that it is a challenge to the idea or topic. It's a common way for breaking down problems and examining thoughts, and it manifests in a weird tone.

So while I think a lot of the opposition comes across rude or belligerent and two things need to be kept in mind. A good portion of it is probably just for prodding, looking for logistical holes, and we're on the internet. The internet doesn't represent real human discussion because of the anonymity involved. The SJW movement appears to me to have overcompensated and gone a little too far in the rhetoric, even though I believe in the basic principles. It's like the college guy who starts crying at the keggar about how we're not saving the rain forests. His point and emotion are perfectly valid, but the avenue and the action are in the wrong place directed at the wrong people. When someone appears to be oversensitive, a lot of people feel compelled to push that button to get a reaction.

Now, the reactions from some of the anti-sjw are downright insane. I've seen some really uncalled for vitriol. But again, this being the internet, all those types of comments are to be openly dismissed for the garbage they are.
