No. Our nation was founded upon the principle of limiting the power of large governing bodies. Time for the US to wake up and realize that private corporations are large governing bodies. Free market is a great thing, but our constitution makes obvious and explicit exception for times when principles must be compromised in the name of defending the republic (See article 1, section 8).

With regards to limiting the power of corporations on social issues, the time is now to act, or else this nation and others will slide down the dark path of corporate dominance, which will eventually lead to mass poverty, elimination of the middle class and a system where freedom exists in the highest rungs of the social system, but Orwellian totalitarianism exists for the rest.

The moment they became the primary influencers of our political elections, and realized that they could "buy off" politicians to do their bidding, they needed to be dealt with, IMO, because they do pose a real threat to our national sovereignty.
