Reddit CEO Steve Huffman (/u/spez) is still making excuses for not banning rules-violating hate sub T_D: “I don’t believe banning a community that represents different viewpoints does anything but make the problem worse.”

He's right on the point of keeping it from making things worse.

Imagine your bathroom is infested with cockroaches - hundreds of them. In retaliation you spray your bug spray in the bathroom. On one hand some of the cockroaches die, but one the other hand many of the cockroaches that lived seep into the cracks of your wall or just simply walk out the door, fornicating elsewhere in your house, festering in different rooms or right outside of the house/bathroom, waiting for things to die down so they can invade again.

I regret being a part of T_D, but knowing the state of the sub (and other forums they congregate) they'll find ways to make other subreddits their own (look at a lot of the Men's Rights subreddits, incel, /r/uncensorednews/, /r/conspiracy to an extent). If their situation gets worse and they're forcibly banned then other subreddit mods need to be stricter.
