Why is Reddit considered a "liberal circlejerk" when most Redditors detest topics like feminism, transgender rights and racism towards blacks, etc.?

I don't think users of this website can be seriously grouped into on collective. To do so is both wrong, and quite bluntly, stupid.

I think you need to go beyond the default subreddits, and look to other places on the website, where many of these things you are claiming represent the entire community, are lambasted beyond a joke. Just as you get racists, homophobes and sexists, you find communities where you get people who are so radically anti-racist, anti-homophobia and anti-sexism that they take to brigading and doxxing anybody they can the moment that person utters even a slight objection to something they have said.

I don't think that for a moment redditors are anti-feminist, but I have certainly seen a vast number of redditors being anti-sjw/anti-radical-feminism. That, I think, is representative of not just reddit, but the internet, and society as a whole. If you are radical feminist, radical gay rights, radical muslim, radical christian, radical pluto planetizer, and you make absolutely sure that you can shout from the highest mountain and make a big loud, "fuck you," in the direction of anybody you can... That's when I see this "anti-feminism" rearing it's head.

One such example that you yourself have given, is this comment. The link itself is of a group of radical feminists being, quite frankly, bigoted cunts, by trying to silence a group that supports the idea of men being given equal rights in divorce cases. Men being shown more recognition when it comes to sexual abuse. I too have a problem with the people in that video, and would happily speak out against them, but would I speak out against someone who wants equal pay for women in all areas in the work place? No, of course not, because I'm for equality, not inequality on behalf of a specific group of people. You honestly believe that the comment you linked shows an anti-feminist standpoint, because he dares to object to people trying to silence their "opposition"? It's funny to even consider MRA an opposition movement to feminism, given that they're supposed to both be looking for the same thing, right? equality? so surely in trying to silence MRA movements, the feminists in that video are actually trying to push a superiority over men agenda, yes? Is it really anti-feminist in trying to point out that ridiculously paradoxical retardation?

What I believe you're doing, is choosing to see what you want to see. You have been told that this website is a cesspit of racism, homophobia and sexism, so that's what you see most prominently, yet you ignore the many subreddits that put on charity drives, and offer to buy other people pizza, or lend other people money who are most in need of it, out of the goodness of their hearts, with no prejudice, just because they want to make the world a better, nicer place to live.

With all that being said, the reddit front page defaults do seem to have what I like to call "opinion yo-yo syndrome". It's people trying to fit in with the crowd, it's an echo-chamber, and it follows whatever is trending. Several months ago any mention of Kanye West that I saw was filled with people screaming, "Kanye West is an asshole!" now all you see is people gushing in their pants talking about how revolutionary he is, and how he is the messiah of music. The most notable case of yoyo syndrome I can recall, was Kony 2012. For weeks reddit was jumping up and down waving flags, wanking each other off about how revolutionary the film is - Then... Jason Russell, the directory, went a bit loopy, and the general opinion shifted toward the negative aspects of the film, how it was a poor portrayal of the events, and skewed it away from any meaningful discussions, and yada, yada, yada, yada... Occupy Wallstreet, another event where the general reddit consensus was that this was great, and the 1% were going to fall because reddit, and those who join us in this movement for social justice will revolutionize the world and bring us only good! Talk about it now? The general consensus seems to be that it was an absolute joke, akin to the tea party movement.

In short, stop being so damn short sighted in believing that everybody is against x and y and in favor of z - It's an international website where you get a metric-bollock load of opinions that are going to differ from yours. You're pro gun? Have fun in /r/europe - You're against racism? have fun in /r/coontown - You think women are superior to men? Have fun in /r/TheRedPill On the flip side, you hate guns? Best stay away from /r/guns - Think feminism is lame? Steer clear of /r/ShitRedditSays You're a racist asshole? Enjoy your time in /r/racism

Get my point?
