Reddit, Why do you think you got friendzoned ?

I've had a few times where I wanted to date someone, but ended up friends instead, but I wouldn't really call that being "friendzoned". I've only really had one potential relationship that ended with all the friendzone cliches.

When we first met there was a strong mutual attraction, but we didn't start dating at that point for a couple reasons. We had both just gotten out of relationships so the timing wasn't great, and we lived just far enough away from each other to make dating pretty inconvenient.

Despite not dating we did form a very close bond. Talking to each other daily, and being a bit flirty with it too. I thought we were leading towards becoming an official item until one day I saw her change her relationship status to dating someone. I honestly didn't take it very well, and it ended up ruining the friendship.

As for what actually led to us not dating I'm not really sure. Could be that I failed to "seal the deal" in a timely manner, but could also be that my attempts at "friendly" flirting might have put her off from the initial first impression she had of me. Or maybe she just liked him more.
