Reddit Orders ‘SaveVideo’ Bot to Shut Down or Face Lawsuit

Reddit almost feels "too big to fail" at times. There are really just two big groups that want to leave the site:

  1. People who are not allowed to express their views without violating Reddit TOS.

  2. People who are opposed to big tech.

Group 1 is significantly larger than group 2. So any alternative platform that comes up gets adopted by them first. Then the site gets branded a "far right cesspool" and fails to see any degree of mainstream adoption.

Take Ruqqus for example. Their terms of service and censorship policy is actually stricter than Reddit in the early 2010s (no jailbait), but the site is considered far-right because that's who mainly browses it. And even if you agree with the site politically, it's still absolutely shit for non-political hobby communities.

Until Reddit ostracizes enough "normal" people, there's not gonna be a suitable substitute. But at this rate that night happen eventually.
