Reddit scares the crap out of me

My main struggle is anything related to my experience as a man.

You make a post about women as victims of domestic abuse, or a genderless post where people can ASSUME it is about men abusing women... CONSISTENTLY they are upvoted, praised, agreed with, and at no point is anyone allowed to relate in any way their own experiences as a man.

Flip the genders, CONSISTENTLY it will get downvoted, and attacked AND it's totally acceptable for women to minimise and invalidate and talk about how much worse women have it - not even from a point of solidarity but as one-upping.

I am the same person writing the same posts with the same experiences and the same writing style. The only thing that changes is gender and it totally flips the results and totally changes what's acceptable in response.

You tell us to talk, be open, share our experiences, seek help, etc... but the second we do it's like you think we are attacking women or saying women aren't commonly victims. If you wonder why men's suicide statistics are 3x women's, it's because men are expected to suffer in silence & so we do.

We too suffer similar experiences, particularly in the spheres of psychological abuse and body image pressures.

Yet if we say so, we are women-haters.

It's EXHAUSTING.
