Reddit, what do you think about the world we live in?

I think there's a grain of truth in most conspiracy theories, just like there are in stereotypes (racism, sexism, xenophobia, etc) which is a tricky thing to say these days without being labeled a nut or conspiratard. To remove myself and take an objective look at them, I can't deny that, yeah, there's some corrupt, shady, unfathomable business going on behind all these wars, famines, and dirty diplomacy. The Illuminati is a joke, but it masks whatever is going on behind the curtain. The most powerful people on the planet, do you think you know their names, where they live, what they do? Hell no you don't, if they're the most powerful people in the world, more than heads of state or monarchs or billionaires. The wicked, manipulative (though petty) actions of people I've met in everyday life are enough for me to think it naive, the assumption that the UN and the EU and Russia and China and Freemasons and the World Bank are the culprits. No they're not (if there's any culprit at all) - they are public figures. If you had enough power to pit men against other men, so that they get caught up in fighting while you reap the benefits from behind the scenes, would you reveal your name? Would you hold a press conference? Lol no.

I'm getting off point. The world we live in is polarized; your physics teacher can tell you that. It's all about contrasts, spectrums, variables. I don't like to get into "good versus evil" but rather "order versus chaos"...I mean, there is such a thing as entropy and it's not going to stop. And it seems to us so gruesome when the bad stuff happens, the wars, the murders, the rapes, the torture, the slavery, I mean humans have done some fucked up shit. Time and time again.

Yet (and I'm really trying not to sound cliché but I probably will anyway) when a body dies, it's just a mass of organic material. Decomposition itself is a process of life, not just death, because instead of letting all those dead cells dry up and turn to dust, little microbes and maggots or whatever start living on the carcass, and over time all the amino acids and vitamins and minerals and hydrocarbons can become fertile soil.

If you're feeling nihilistic or dejected, watch this if you haven't already. (Bill Hicks)

Sorry if I sound like a madman, but you asked a d33p question

TL;DR Illuminaughty is bullshit; the most powerful people are anonymous; it's easy to stop a beating heart but very very hard to stop life itself.
