Reddit, what are your thoughts on feminism?

What I think about feminism. We are never going to be equal. It’s impossible. Equality is an excellent thing to shoot for, but a horrible idea when taken to the extreme. You can’t take a square and a circle and yell at someone until they agree that they are no different and should exhibit the same mathematical properties. In the same sense, a square isn’t better than a circle. They’re just different. Are they both important? Of course. The goal of feminism should be fair treatment of men and women, MEN AND WOMEN, instead of just furthering the agenda for women. I’ll be honest, it definitely seems like women have more grief in terms of gender relations. Is that a natural hormonal balance? Are men more naturally aggressive and dominating, and are women typically more sensitive? I would ask, who really gives a fuck? People should treat others well, instead of shooting for the natural order of things. Hell, basically all morals are contradictory to instinct. That’s what makes them difficult. I disagree with attempting to teach radical things about genders to children. Children do not fully understand the concept of being gay or straight. They understand the concept of loving others and treating people well. They understand that it’s wrong to make fun of someone. Bad parenting leads to the sour dispositions we see from sexists on both sides, whether that be directly or indirectly. Some women are straight up oppressed, and I don’t use that word lightly. Some women are sexually assaulted. Some guys are sexually assaulted. What about those guys? Do you really think all men are evil enough to do that? Is there no leeway for a man to flirt with a girl without being offensive or harassing? You have to see it from the NORMAL, majority male point of view. Most men would never assault a woman. Most men can see those moral lines clearly. Which men get the opportunity to demonstrate how they feel? The attractive ones. If you’re attractive, flirting is seen as positive, and awesome, not as creepy. Also, let’s be fucking real, what do 99 percent of girls expect the guy to do? Initiate. Whether that be asking them for their number first, asking them out, or initiating the physical part of a relationship. We’re creating a society where guys are freaked out to express themselves and women are confused on what to expect out of men. Perfectly innocent girls are taught to be suspicious of all men and that we’re all out to get them. We’re creating a society where both men and women who choose to stay at home to take care of their children are looked down upon. What’s wrong with letting people be who they want to be? What’s wrong with letting a guy be masculine and strong? Not all guys have a sensitive side. Not all girls do either, fellas. Most people have feelings, and most people have both traditionally “feminine” and “masculine” characteristics to varying degrees. Some would say that statement in itself is sexist. I would say that most people have biological tendencies towards certain behaviors, because this is fucking nature and we aren’t malfunctioning machines. We don’t have to follow them, as I mentioned before, but ignoring the fact that your gender plays a role in your personality development is ludicrous. What’s wrong with letting a woman choose to be a housewife? Why the fuck would anyone get pissed off about that? Are you kidding me? Feminists should be promoting more opportunities for women, not setting standards for how women should behave. I guess that’s what pisses me off the most. Shunning other women for not feeling as strongly as you and not being as pissed off at men as you is incredibly counterproductive. Speaking of which, I’m a little confused on why feminists think being accusatory is helpful at all. Most men act in these offensive ways because that’s how we all were raised; we literally don’t know any better. Is the best way to approach that situation to get pissed off at him, call him an asshole, say you don’t need him and are independent, and THEN tell him to change? Put yourself in his shoes. Wouldn’t you tell that person to go fuck themselves? You know what I would really like to see? I would really like to see an emergence of leaders from both genders, and different sexualities that are calm and intelligent. I would love to see them emerge as leaders in an age where everyone has a voice. Nowadays bad ideas spread like wildfire, because ignorant people on both sides can spread their views across social media. If I see one more gender-hating article on either side, I’m going to lose my fucking mind.
