Reddit what is the dumbest question a customer or client has ever asked you at your job?

Guy had his truck towed to the shop because it "wouldn't go nowhere." He tried all the gears, but for some reason it wouldn't move. We asked him if he checked to make sure his transfer case was in 2wd. He said he'd tried it all & it wasn't moving. It was a newer Tacoma so we thought maybe he broke a linkage or something. Get it in the shop, & the transfer case is in neutral. We pop it into 2wd and it goes just like it's supposed to. He shows up, we tell him it was the transfer case, and since it wasn't something actually broke he's gonna have to pay for the tow (it would've been covered under his warranty if there was an actual issue.). He erupts claiming it couldn't be. So my boss asked him, "Sir, what exactly do you think the transfer case is?" His response was, "That little hatch under the backseat where stuff can be stored." And that was the day a 40+ year old man that had been supposedly driving trucks his whole life learned what a transfer case was.
