Reddit, what event at your job made you just say "Fuck this, I quit"?

My employer was eligible to bid on a big contract because of my professional credentials, and they won it in part because of my professional reputation.

They hired someone new to manage it which was fine with me because I was not particularly interested in the subject matter. They even had me training this new manager.

They were very secretive about salaries, which this new manager disregarded. I found out that I was getting paid much less than others, including new hires and people who lacked the necessary credentials.

It was hard because I did not speak up for myself for several years. I was not getting any raises, not even cost of living, and although my work was earning them financial bonuses, they were not telling me about that.

I think I still would have put up with it except they put me in a terrible position. The person they hired for that project also did not have the right credentials. So they wanted me to "front" for them and tell the contracting agency I was the manager for the project even though I was not.

That meant I finally had to confront them on all of their bullsht knowing it was the end of my job there. Still really psses me off that they were such jerks. My area of expertise is complicated and they don't understand most of it. It was basically a case of them not having a clue about the nature of the work but also some ageism.
