Reddit, what happened to you that made you to say "It's a small world"?

I am Armenian and if anyone knows anything about Armenian population, it's quite small compared to the size of the world. In Europe last summer with my family, first time for any of us.

My dad's feeling a bit spontaneous, decides we should roam the streets of Greece with some beers in our hands and catch a nice buzz. I'm all for it. We stop at a market, grab the biggest size of beer we find (which is dirt cheap compared to America), and head to the register. After a bit of deliberation, my dad leans over to me, and in Armenian, expresses that he has no idea if its legal to drink publicly here. What if cops stop us or some wrong shit goes down? Is this normal in Europe to just be drinking on the streets?

Out of nowhere some random guy behind us in line responds, in Armenian, that it's completely chill and no one gives a fuck. As if that wasn't a big enough coincidence, my dad and him get to talking for a few minutes, turns out the guy had been a roommate of my uncle (dad's brother), 22 years ago, when my uncle had a 4 month stint in Greece. Truly a WTF moment.
