Reddit, what tips or tricks do you have that help you get up in the morning?

During my recent exam period, this was the technique I essentially crafted out of pure trial and error. It's long and tedious, but it worked for me.

Say for example you need to be OUT OF BED by 7:30-8am. Put either a cold cup of coffee (ew I know, it's an acquired taste) or an energy drink by your bedside. Also a glass of water.

Set an alarm for 7:00. Wake up, instantly gulp down your energy drink, and fall back to sleep. In about 20 minutes time, the caffeine will kick in, and you'll wake yourself up naturally without an alarm. If done properly you'll feel refreshed as fuck. If you have a high tolerance to caffeine, set another alarm for 7:30 just in case. Even if the caffeine didn't wake you up, you should still wake up feeling much more energized the second time around. At 7:30, drink your glass of water, and just keep at least one eye open at all times. Once you feel able, slip out of bed, STRAIGHT into a shower. Have a normal shower, however as you reach the end gradually make it colder and colder. A cold shower is difficult but wakes you up SO well. Whilst oatmeal/porridge is a great breakfast, if you're feeling nauseous from sleep deprivation it is probably the worst thing to eat. I personally eat toast, but generally just eat whatever you can. Whilst the bread's into the toaster, I'll normally try doing some star jumps or I'll jog on the spot just to wake myself up further. As you begin to crash from your previous caffeine fix, prepare another coffee and take sips as you get dressed. If you find yourself with nothing to do, fill in the gap. Don't just sit there like a half-asleep zombie. Browse Reddit, go judge some people on Facebook, do anything to keep yourself alert. This is all I've got
