reddit, what have your pets done that is worryingly smart ?

20 years ago I got a ferret. First night I had her she was in the room while I was bathing and freaked out and tried to pull me out of the bathtub. For most of the rest of her life she made sure to stick close at bath time and rushed in to "save" me again should I make any distressed noise. 8 years later we got a puppy.. who the ferret then passed the job to. First week I had him he also tried to pull me from the bath. After that week the ferret stopped guarding me and it was the dogs job. 5 years of this go by when a little brown feral dog that's been visiting us for the past year decides she lives at our house now. She wouldnt let us touch her at first, but she still somehow inherited the job and tries to pull me out of the bath. Last year we found a tiny pup in the street, put up signs, called vets, but no one claimed him... Guess who is my bath-time defender now? ;)

So yeah, I'm probably going to die in the bath someday, but it wont be for lack of trying on the part of my pets.
